Your first objective
Choose the class path you actually intend to play before looking at a technique or charm ranking. Sword x Staff lists are divided by class and progression level; a placement in one list is not a universal recommendation for every build.
A practical sequence
Open the ranking for your current path and level, compare the listed techniques and charms, and identify which part of your setup they improve. Keep the class unchanged during the test so that a difference is not caused by switching two systems at once.
Before spending resources
Treat a later-level ranking as a planning reference, not as a statement that every entry is already usable. Check in-game unlocks before spending resources. Record your target upgrades in the local planner and revise them when the class path or progression bracket changes.
