Reroll guide

Rerolling means starting a separate game profile to try a different opening roster. For most new players, progressing one account is the better starting plan: the standard channel already has a beginner S-Rank guarantee. Reroll only when you have a specific target and a time limit, rather than restarting after every unfamiliar result.

Before starting

Record your current account, login method, server and UID before trying another profile. An email login and a Google or Apple login can represent different accounts even when they use the same address. On consoles, check the existing platform link before changing accounts. Reinstalling the game is not a reroll method.

How to reroll: step by step

  1. Use the game’s normal sign-in screen to register or sign in to a separate HoYoverse account that you control. Select the server you intend to play on.
  2. Play the opening story until Signal Search is unlocked. Check that the search menu is usable before counting a trial as ready.
  3. Claim the rewards currently available in your mail, events and account-progression menus. Check eligibility and expiry; launch promotions are not a permanent starting-ticket bundle.
  4. Spend the free Master Tapes on the standard channel. If the new-player discount is still active, use the discounted ten-search option. Keep Encrypted Master Tapes separate for the limited-agent channel.
  5. Review the result, test the agents and check a workable three-agent team. Keep the account if it meets your target. Otherwise, log out and repeat with another separate account; keep the details of any profile you may return to.

Tickets and the beginner guarantee

Master Tapes belong to the standard channel; Encrypted Master Tapes are used for limited agents and W-Engines; Boopons are for Bangboo. The first five discounted standard ten-searches cost eight Master Tapes each: 40 tapes buy 50 searches. A first S-Rank Agent is guaranteed within those first 50 searches, but not a particular agent. Read the channel’s Details panel to confirm the remaining offer on your account.

5 × 8 = 40 → 50

Which agents should you aim for?

Pick a playstyle and a missing role, not just the highest letter on a tier list. These six standard agents offer different starting plans. Try their test stages and compare the linked builds with the teammates you actually own. Their pool availability is shown in the channel’s Details panel; this is a comparison guide, not a guarantee of a specific pull.

Ice · Stun: compare if you want a stun specialist and enjoy charged attacks.

Fire · Stun: compare if your team needs a Fire stun option; evaluate her skill timing.

Electric · Support: compare if you want support effects and can maintain her field actions.

Electric · Anomaly: compare if you want an anomaly-focused damage plan.

Fire · Attack: compare if you enjoy timing normal attacks for a direct-damage plan.

Physical · Attack: compare if you enjoy dodge counters and quick-assist combat.

When to keep the account

Keep a roster you enjoy and can build around. A workable damage plan, a useful support or stun agent, and compatible additional abilities matter more than an isolated rare pull. Anby, Nicole and Billy give you tutorial options while the account develops. Avoid converting all premium currency into standard tapes merely to chase a perfect opening; decide your limited-banner goals first.

Frequently asked questions

How many pulls can I get immediately?

There is no fixed current number to promise. It depends on the rewards and events actually available to the new profile. Count the claimable tickets after unlocking Signal Search.

How long does one attempt take?

It depends on story progression, device and how you play. Time your first attempt and set a maximum number of attempts before repeating it.

Does an S-Rank guarantee my favourite character?

No. The beginner guarantee gives an S-Rank Agent from the applicable pool; it does not choose the result for you.

Does deleting or reinstalling reset my roster?

No. Progress is tied to your account and server. Check the UID and login method when returning to a saved profile.
